30 Years of Documentary Filmmaking by Tanvir Mokammel

To mark a monumental milestone—30 Years of Documentary Filmmaking by Tanvir Mokammel—the BFIAA organized a grand three-day retrospective festival from March 6th to 8th, 2023. Held at the prestigious Jatiya Chitrashala Auditorium (National Art Gallery) at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in Dhaka, the event showcased seven of his most acclaimed documentary films.

The festival was a vibrant gathering for cinema lovers and scholars alike. It featured an exclusive masterclass on the "Art of Documentary", engaging "Meet the Director" sessions, and a heartwarming celebration of the director's birthday. The culminating highlight of the event was the official unveiling of the Special Edition of Uralchitra, serving as a permanent archive of profound reflections on his three-decade journey in independent cinema.
