About The Filmmaker
With a passion for storytelling and a keen eye for cinematic detail, Sohel Ahmmad Siddiquee has established himself as a versatile and dynamic film director, screenwriter, and producer. After completing his post-graduation in Finance & Banking from Dhaka, he embarked on a creative journey to pursue his true passion for storytelling through the medium of cinema.
Seeking to deepen his understanding of the craft, he enrolled in the prestigious Film Appreciation Course under the guidance of renowned auteur Tanvir Mokammel at the Bangladesh Film Institute (BFI). He later pursued a diploma course in Program Producing at the Bangladesh Cinema & Television Institute (BCTI), acquiring foundational skills in creative production and technical management.
His filmmaking journey has been deeply influenced by Tanvir Mokammel, under whom he received his foundational film education and worked continuously for ten years. Mokammel's cinematic focus on the liberation of common people, partition, and marginalized communities has profoundly shaped his storytelling perspective. In addition, rich collaborations with eminent filmmakers such as Morshedul Islam, Goutam Ghose, and Raja Sen have further broadened his cinematic horizons.
Within BFIAA, he has contributed actively to institutional stewardship, serving as Seminar Secretary in the 2019–2021 Executive Council and as Finance Secretary in the 2022–2023 Executive Committee.
